Fabrication of Effective Co-SnO2/SGCN Photocatalysts for the Removal of Organic Pollutants and Pathogen Inactivation

Substantial improvement is needed in efficient and affordable decolorization disinfection methods to solve the issues caused by dyes harmful bacteria water wastewater. This work involves photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) as well gram-negative gram-positive cobalt-doped tin oxide (Co-SnO2) nanoparticles (NPs) Co-SnO2/SGCN (sulfur-doped graphitic carbon nitride) nanocomposites (NCs) under sunlight. The coprecipitation approach was used synthesize photocatalysts. Maximum seen with 7% Co-SnO2 NPs compared other (1, 3, 5, 9 wt.%) NPs. were then homogenized different amounts (10, 30, 50, 70 weight %) sulfur-doped nitride (SGCN) develop heterostructures most significant degree MB degradation. synthesized samples identified modern characterization such FT-IR, SEM, EDX, UV-visible, XRD spectroscopies. Co-SnO2/50% SGCN composites showed a increase degraded 96% after 150 min sunlight irradiation. Both (E. coli) (B. subtiles) bacterial strains subjected antibacterial activity. All shown have vigorous activity against bacteria, but exhibited maximum bactericidal action. Thus, proposed NC an organic/inorganic photocatalyst that recyclable stable without lowering efficiency. Hence, SGCNNC has potential be employed treatment dual-functional material simultaneously removes organic pollutants eradicates bacteria.
